Michael Imes resides in Gig Harbor, Washington with his
wife and son. He was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. Mr. Imes served
approximately eight years in the communication center of the Sheriff’s Office
but wanted to pursue additional education. After serving in the Sheriff’s
Office, he moved to Arcata, California, to attend Humboldt State University. Mr.
Imes graduated with a B.A. degree in Sociology then attended graduate school for
the next two years. After college, Mr. Imes volunteered with the U.S. Army where
he was inducted into basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia in January 1997.
After basic training Mr. Imes attended Airborne School and was then transferred
to Ft. Carson Colorado where he served a little over a year. During this time he
spent three months in Kuwait after Desert Storm. Upon returning to Fort Carson,
he received orders for Camp Hovey, Dong Du Chon, South Korea. During his tenure
in South Korea, Mr. Imes spent many hours at Shalom House, a Christian
Servicemen’s’ Center off base. At Shalom House he was introduced to many
nationals who introduced him to South Korean culture, food, and travel. It was
during this time he met his wife. Around Christmas of 1999, after serving 13
months in South Korea, he was honorably discharged from the military and moved
to Gig Harbor, Washington. Upon returning to the United States, Mr. Imes began
training to be a real estate appraiser. Mr. Imes currently owns and operates his
own consulting and appraisal companies. Mr. Imes has always enjoyed the outdoors
and is an avid jogger, hiker, skier, camper, climber and hunter. As life slowed
his activities down some, but he was determined to raise his son in the
outdoors, so he and his family are constantly looking for opportunities to go
into the woods. This is how he discovered Eyes In The Woods. Mr. Imes became
involved in Eyes In The Woods in 2008 and was assigned as the Region 6 North
C.O.R.T. Coordinator. In 2009 he was asked to take a board position in the
C.O.R.T. Program where is he currently serving.
