The following trainings are
available currently: 1. Crime
Observation and Reporting Training (C.O.R.T.) §
This is a
one-time, 2-hour training; A WDFW Enforcement Officer will instruct you on
how to spot violations, document the details and report the information,
while avoiding conflict at all costs. 2. Check
Station Training §
This is a
2-3 hour training conducted by WDFW Biologists. Volunteers are instructed on how to
conduct a "Biological data
collection site". §
Training
includes; approach and diplomacy, safety, radio protocol, documentation
harvest data, DNA sampling, and how to visually determine age of harvested
game. 3. Telemetry
Tracking §
Many
studies are using radio-tracking equipment to locate specific species and
document needed information. This
training is an all day event held on location in the field. Dedicated Eyes In The Woods
volunteers are instructed in the use of the equipment and the documentation
of the data needed for each specific study.
4. Radio
Protocol §
This
training takes about 1/2 hour and is included in other biological trainings. §
Many of
the projects and studies will require communication using the "State
Band Department of Natural Resources Radio Network". 5. Special
Trainings §
Dedicated
Eyes In Woods volunteers are able to participate in additional trainings for
specific biological studies. (Available
to participants per study)
